How to use Ferrous Ascorbate

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. ORFE-XT Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How Ferrous Ascorbate works

Ferrous Ascorbate is a combination of of iron and vitamin C. Iron works by replenishing the iron stores in your body and corrects iron deficiency anemia. Vitamin C (ascorbate) is added to enhance the absorption of iron in the body.

How Folic Acid works

Folic Acid is a form of vitamin B. It plays a vital role in the formation of red blood cells, which carry oxygen throughout the body. It is also essential in pregnancy due to its role in the development of the unborn baby’s brain and spinal cord.

How Zinc works

Zinc is a mineral that provides essential nutrients.

  • Alcohol : ORFE-XT Tablet may cause symptoms such as flushing, increased heartbeat, nausea, thirst, chest pain and low blood pressure with alcohol (Disulfiram reactions).
  • Pregnancy :

    1. ORFE-XT Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.

    2. Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.

  • Lactation : ORFE-XT Tablet is safe to use during lactation. Human studies have shown that either the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in significant amount or is not expected to cause toxicity to the baby.
  • Driving : It is not known whether ORFE-XT Tablet alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react.
  • Kidney : ORFE-XT Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of ORFE-XT Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
  • Liver : ORFE-XT Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of ORFE-XT Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
